- 👤 Personal Data: Demographic and personally identifiable information (such as your name, phone number, and email address) that you voluntarily give to us when you register with the App or when you choose to participate in various activities related to the App, such as managing a user profile.
- 📊 Financial & Ledger Data: Information regarding group expenses, bill splits, and calculated transaction ledgers created within the App. Note: DemiTab is a calculation and tracking utility; we do not store raw credit card details or process direct banking payments on our servers.
- 📷 Camera and Photo Library Access: We request access to your device's camera and photo library specifically for scanning and uploading receipts. The images are securely transmitted to an AI vision API strictly for extracting item names, quantities, and prices.
- 📋 Clipboard Data: We request temporary access to your device's clipboard during your first application launch. This is used exclusively to detect secure referral codes (e.g., ?ref=CODE) to automatically award your onboarding credits. We do not store, track, or transmit any clipboard data that does not match our specific referral format.
- 📱 Device and Usage Data: Information our servers automatically collect when you access the App, such as your native device ID, operating system version, and application interactions (via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) to help us track errors and improve performance.
2. How We Use Your Information
Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the App to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Authenticate your identity via phone number OTP (One-Time Password).
- Process bill splits, generate financial ledgers, and manage your internal capability credits.
- Administer the "Refer & Earn" viral loop and apply referral bonuses.
- Resolve technical crashes and troubleshoot errors.
- Respond to customer service requests.
3. Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others. We may share your information only in the following specific situations:
- Third-Party Service Providers: We share your information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf, including data analysis, hosting services, error tracking, and AI image processing. Key providers include Google (Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Crashlytics) and Expo Application Services.
- Group Interactions: When you join a shared event or bill-splitting session via a QR code or invite link, your profile name and calculated share will be visible to other members of that specific session.
- Legal Obligation: We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, or a judicial proceeding.
4. Security of Your Information
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. Your data is stored securely in cloud-hosted databases protected by strict, authenticated security rules ensuring that only participants of a specific event can view its ledger. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for legitimate business purposes and as permitted by applicable law.
Right to Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. You can completely and permanently delete your account, ledger history, and profile data at any time by navigating to the Account Hub within the App and tapping "Delete Account". This action will instantly wipe your localized application sandbox and securely remove your records from our cloud database and authentication provider.
